Ergonomics, fit and feel

I am just happy to see Apple go back to curved edges. This just feels better in my hand, particularly for a larger device. It does indeed have a little getting used to having the sleep/power button on the right side now rather than the top. For the preliminary few days I was instinctively longing for the top of the device to wake it or place it to sleep. When taking landscape screenshots I always hit the quantity buttons by mistake. However, now i am used to the new location and it isn't a huge deal. We would have expected the home button to be slightly larger, but really the same size as the one from the iPhone 5s. The touch-ID (fingerprint scanner) works beautifully and now that iOS 8 opens it up to third party software, I'm using it the whole day. For the first few days I used it without a case holding out for mine to appear. Therefore I was more careful than normal as I didn't want any scratches. I did drop it once on a carpeted floor at home and it survived with no scratches or harm. As others have suggested, the camera lens will protrude from your back a little. This is the price we pay for a thinner iPhone.
